November 12, 2013, was an important day for Baerlocher do Brasil. With more than 120 guests from industry, government and the media, the company celebrated, both the official opening of a new state of the art production plant for fatty acids in Americana, as well as its 40th anniversary.
With production and office space of 10,400 square meters and the plant´s capacity of 35,000 to/year, the Baerlocher Group of Companies clearly enhances its leading position in the region for a variety of fatty acids for various applications. After Lingen (Lower Saxony, Germany) and Cremona (Italy), the plant in Americana is the third production site of this kind within the Baerlocher Group.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Michael Rosenthal, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Baerlocher Group of Companies; his son Tobias Rosenthal, Member of the Advisory Board of the Baerlocher Group of Companies; Ricardo Freijo, Managing Director of the Lestar Quimica S.A. and Alberto Freijo, Technical Director of the Lestar Quimica S.A., Argentina; Arne Schulle, CEO of the Baerlocher Group of Companies; Omar Aron, General Manager of the Compania Quimica, Peru; Rainer Grasmück, Head of the Business Unit PVC Additives – Asia & Americas; and Andreas Holzner , Global Head of the Business Unit Special Additives and responsible for global production coordination.
Baerlocher do Brasil was represented by Juarez da Silva Costa, General Manager Baerlocher do Brasil; Valdemir Fantacussi, Technical Director Baerlocher do Brasil, Helber Solitão, Finance Director and the entire Sales Team of Baerlocher do Brasil.
In his speech, Dr. Rosenthal thanked the local team for the excellent project management and highlighted its outstanding performance and the coordination with technical experts from Europe.
“We are pleased that we were able to add another facility to our global landscape of production sites,” said Arne Schulle. “The plant in Americana meets the high standards which apply for all our worldwide production sites in order to ensure consistent product quality.”
A rich buffet of local specialties and a Brazilian band made up the culinary and musical setting.
The opening of the new plant was also an excellent opportunity for Dr. Rosenthal and the executive team of the Baerlocher Group of Companies to meet with key customers in the region.
